DBT Intensive Training

The DBT Intensive Training is a formal training program that has been offered for over 30 years. It is one of the most recognized professional training programs, organized by the Behavioral Tech Institute. The mission of the training is to provide DBT in its scientifically up-to-date form, adhering to the rigorous vision and philosophy originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan.

This mission is now carried forward by the faculty of Behavioral Tech Institute and extended through collaboration with DBT KOREA.

This training is a required formal training course for most DBT practitioners and institutions worldwide. Through this training, participants will receive fundamental clinical training and expert consultation in DBT. Upon completion, an official certificate of completion will be issued to each participant with the team/institution’s name.

DBT Recent News & Stories

The DBT Intensive Training Part 1 has been successfully completed. Held from March 16 to March 20, 2026, this training brought together mental health and counseling professionals from diverse fields, marking their first steps as members of DBT treatment teams.

Participants built on the core theory and structure of DBT while actively exploring its application in real clinical settings. Throughout the training, they worked to organize the DBT model into a more concrete and practical clinical framework.

High-quality lectures, ongoing questions and answers, discussions, and shared clinical experiences shaped the overall flow of the training. These elements went beyond simple knowledge delivery and provided meaningful opportunities for participants to develop their clinical judgment and intervention approaches.

The DBT Intensive Training highlighted that, alongside understanding theory, practicing through role-play is essential for acquiring skills that can be applied in real clinical settings. The five-day intensive program helped participants gain a clearer understanding of the structure and philosophy of DBT, while also offering concrete direction on how to integrate these principles into their own clinical work.

DBT Institute of Korea will continue to support the effective implementation of DBT in clinical settings through ongoing education and professional dialogue.
