DBT Experiential ClassㅣDistress Tolerance Skills Module

Class Introduction

In 2008, Dr. Marsha Linehan, the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), was invited to Korea by Mr. Jo Yong-beom and conducted a DBT workshop. Subsequently, based on Dr. Linehan’s opinion that it is desirable for Korean experts to directly experience DBT, the DBT Center/The Tree Group in Korea launched the DBT Experiential Class for professionals.

During this period, many experts have had the opportunity to indirectly experience real situations that occur within DBT groups through this class. Starting this year, the DBT Center has established a regular DBT class for professionals, allowing registration on a semester basis. We hope that the skills learned through the DBT Experiential Class can be meaningfully applied to one’s own difficulties and situations.

Dr. Jo Yong-beom and the DBT Korea Headquarters have opened this class to professionals who are qualified and aspire to become DBT therapists, in alignment with the intentions of Dr. Marsha Linehan and US DBT education and training institutions.

At DBT KOREA, we aim to provide professionals with in-depth education and training, and participants will have the opportunity to experience and learn DBT within an interpersonal therapeutic environment.

Among those who are involved in DBT therapy or dedicated to the field of mental health, there are individuals who have already engaged deeply in spiritual practice, as well as those who are newly embarking on this path. Even scholars who resonate with Marsha Linehan and her philosophy are engaging in profound spiritual practice within their respective religious institutions.
