Meet the United States' DBT Standard Program in Korea

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a specialized treatment to help people who suffer from intolerable emotional pain that detrimentally impacts the quality of their lives. With extensive research evidence, it been proven to reduce and at times stop the life– threatening emotional pain and behaviors of the patient. DBT was originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan to help people who are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. The treatment has now expanded to relieve the symptoms of emotional dysregulation, uncontrollable anger as well as impulses and eating disorders.
Dr. Linehan is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology the University of Washington and Director Emeritus of Behavioral Research & Therapy Clinics. She is an internationally renowned authority on treating the borderline personality disorder and other complex mental disorders with the issues of emotional dysregulation. She developed DBT for the borderline personality disorder which was previously thought to be difficult to treat. DBT has been proven effective for treating people who have abrupt changes in emotions, eating disorders, impulsivity, self-destructive tendencies, and suicidal behaviors.

Respect for People’s Rights and Dignity
We provide professional treatment to enhance the quality of life of those with chronic emotional and behavioral difficulties. In psychotherapy, a clinician must respect the rights and dignity of the clients with whom they work, while the clients learn the new approaches to overcoming their current struggles with the clinician to achieve their goals in life.
Professional Ethics
We, as professionals who have had intense education and training in psychology or other related fields, strictly follow the professional ethics and standards to be able to provide more effective treatment to and empathize with our clients.
Evidence-based Research and Treatment
Our clinical team makes consistent effort to provide treatment services based on the most current and accurate evidence-based research as we understand doing so is crucial in psychotherapy. Research-based treatments that are introduced in international journals and proven to reduce emotional and behavioral distress are then implemented in clinical settings.
